The Latest Head Lice Removal Tactics

A parent or guardian will never enjoy peace of mind knowing that there are insects eating away into the head of his or her child. Head lice removal should be a priority for any parent or guardian. In fact, it should be a search for a permanent solution to avoid an infestation that could lead to skin diseases and an itchy experience.

Comb the hair regularly to keep it neat. Ensure that you are away from chaff and untidy places because the insect can jump off. Since they live on blood, they will die immediately they are off your hair. Through combing, you also make the environment too dry and uninhabitable to insects. Keep a neat and clean scalp and the chances of insects will reduce.

Pyrethrum products will provide an effective solution. Pyrethrum has been used in fighting insects for years. It forms part of insecticide industry and has proven effective through damage to the nervous system. With a damaged nervous system, these insects are incapacitated leading to death. The products are best applied on dry hair to avoid dilution. You have to be cautious of developing resistance. Follow up the application after 7-10 days.

Olive oil is known for being useful in the kitchen but it can do more than that. It is natural and therefore not prone resistance despite continued use. The oil works by suffocating the insects and making it impossible for them to live on the scalp. They will get stuck in the oil and die or be forced off the hair and also die. The oil is also a perfect treatment for your scalp.

Use the hair drier to kill the insect using heat. This method is only effective to some extent and depends on how well you apply it. The hair drier should be used on a head that has just been washed. The little buggers will be bothered by the heat and therefore die or escape. The effectiveness of this approach depends on how much heat you can take.

There is an effective method referred to as hair dunking. It involves drowning your head in water, oil or liquid for a prolonged period of time. When using water, an addition of insecticide will make it more effective. Soap is also an effective addition because it helps in cleaning your scalp. The hair is left to dry, giving you a caked scalp. There is no insect that can survive such conditions.

Vinegar is an effective cleaner whenever you are dealing with grease. It works by dissolving the substance that the insects use to hold onto your hair. This makes it easy for them to fall off. It can be used alone or to clean your scalp after application of the other methods.

Home remedies are preferred because they are free of resistance. It means that you can apply them several times without experiencing resistance. Follow instructions or involve an experienced assistant when using these methods. It is your accuracy that will determine whether you succeed. Keep a neat scalp and the bugs will be eliminated.
