The Uses Of HS Catheters

By Mark Williams

Medical exams necessitate the use of some back up or support equipment that are used for the physical part of these exams. These are now accepted sets necessary for checking on the internal systems of a body. The procedures related to these are scan types that make internal checks possible.

Uterine pathology can be accessed with the help of such equipment. This most helpful part of the process is called the HS catheter, used in the preliminary process that is part of Sonohysterography, also known as Hysterosalpingography. They help provide the means of mapping out the conditions in the uterus and related organs.

This is discussed in more technical terms, but here it will be addressed in more straightforward, conversational terms. All the relevant technical terms will be discussed, too, but at most times they will be in support of clearer language to describe the uses of the catheter. Besides which, the item is made for one thing and thing only, and that is as part of a general MRI style scan.

Medical technology has created such important use for what is a quite simple thing, that is needed to track the health of the feminine genital area. The experts in the field all agree that had there been better and non invasive ways, they would certainly be used, however the use of catheters is currently the most viable. In the future, there might not be a need for them.

The MRI scan has been applied to the genital parts of females, and it is where the catheter is used for injecting contrast media, which are used like dyes. There are no large differences with other types of scanning for different parts of the body. And the simple tubing and its attachments enable the experts to make successful scans.

The path of dyes is specific to concerns about the state or health of areas in question, which can be the uterus or the fallopian tubes. Smaller catheters cannot be used, and HS one is the smallest possible that may be possibly inserted into sensitive areas. They deliver the dyes precisely and the scan is made that does not actually make the insides visible but viewable through magnetic resonance.

Magnetic resonance is trackable and in constant flux, but the final form is a thing that is easily mapped by a computer program. The dyes are process specific, meaning the become part of a specific chemical process within the uterus. This it is possible to visualize the correlations of processes by the use of several dyes.

There are several types of the equipment that are used, depending on how or what kind of procedure is called for. The medical assistants and a specialist nurse usually do the physical examination, with a doctor at standby for assistance when the procedure becomes complicated or encounters some problems.

The tubes are not hard to make or expensive, but exact specifications need to be addressed. This makes the standards very high for the companies that make them. They can be bought over the counter or direct from the factory, but then hospitals usually cover these items, and they are listed down specific for HMO insurance.
