Keeping Away Organic Italian Olive Oil Which Is Mislabeled

By Rob Sutter

I believe that there are many points to consider when you go to purchase organic olive oil. I cannot deny that it is one of the best items to bring into the diet in the long term and I am sure that the many uses are going to be taken advantage of by all consumers. That being said, it seems as though there are concerns with mislabeling and I believe that there are many reasons for this. If you'd like to know more, here are a couple of details worth considering.

There are certain words that you should focus on if you are looking to invest in oil of this nature. I believe that "pure" is just one that you should focus on because it may not mean as much positively as you would come to expect. The Sacramento Bee posted an article and it said that while the oil may be more inexpensive, the level of quality present may not be as high. For best results, search for the "extra virgin" tag on every bottle instead.

Perhaps you are concerned about the expiration date of the oil, which is something that you can pinpoint if you understand how the labeling of organic olive oil is supposed to work. For example, companies like Bellucci Premium pride themselves on being specific about their due dates, offering a "best by" label in order to give consumers a better indication. However, the window of actual freshness is about two years. You can tell if this time has passed if the oil is lacking the flavor you would have come to expect.

This article brought to my attention the idea of the traceability app that this company has to offer. I had no idea that such an element existed but if you have been able to put it into effect, you can see that there is a surprising wealth of information to consider. For example, what will happen if you punched in the number of your bottle lot? If you manage to do so, you will be able to learn about the area in which the olives of the oil were harvested.

I can understand why so many consumers are, to say the least, on amber when it comes to the idea of organic olive oil. Even though a bottle may say one thing, it is very possible that the contents are ones which are worlds apart. When people put money into products that they believe to be absolutely authentic, they expect that this level of trust will be honored. Keep these aspects in mind when shopping for the best type of oil that can ever be put to use.
